Bastille Day Celebration

French in Acton celebrated the French Independence Holiday, Bastille Day, with a sold-out dinner hosted by restaurant Bondir Concord yesterday, July 14. More than 40 Francophiles, mostly adult students and friends of French in Acton, gathered for this sixth annual event, featuring a meal and entertainment themed to the French national holiday.

Bondir Concord chef Jason Bond prepared a three-course prix-fixe dinner influenced by French cuisine. As in French tradition, the final course offered a choice between a selection of local cheeses, a poached rhubarb dessert, and a dark chocolate Calvados mousse.

The group delighted in French conversation and cheer, as well as the custom flag waving and singing of La Marseillaise, the French national anthem.
